Pre-Existing Disability Insurance

Is there a form of disability insurance for older adults (40 to 50) with a physical impairment (from polio as a child)? The disability is not life threatening. This person can perform some working functions to support him or herself, but part-time and not full-time.

Answer: There is no specific insurance product that I’m aware of that matches this set of criteria. However, it might be worth some research. Check out the trusted sponsor links at the top of the pages that deal with disability insurance on our site

Your challenge is that there is a level of disability that pre-exists. In most cases, insurance companies providing disability insurance will exclude conditions that pre-exist.
