I am a business owner who provides services to local pet owners. How would I go about offering / selling / pet insurance to my customers? Would I need a similar broker’s license to sell regular human insurance?
Answer: Each jurisdiction is likely to have its own rules governing the offering of insurance, so I don’t know the unique legislation that would govern your ability to set-up this kind of business. I would check with your local government and State Department of Insurance, as a start. You could also contact insurance companies that offer pet insurance and ask question to find out what is required to represent their products.
