Car Insurance for Dependents

I have a client who owned a large insurance company. He says you do not need to add a dependent to your insurance. According to the policy that his company provided, anyone who is a resident of the household and has a license is covered under the master auto policy. My insurance company says no. What is correct?

The level of coverage provided by an insurance company can vary. While there may be state legislation that covers some aspects of the policy, other aspects of the policy are determined by the underwriting guidelines of the individual company. So, your friend and your insurance company could both be right, for their respective insurance policies.

Always read the fine print.
