Is it true that there is no insurance coverage for vehicle or property damage if you are convicted of being over the legal alcohol limit? A friend in Ontario had a single vehicle accident, was an insured driver on the policy, hit a hydro pole and damaged their leased vehicle.

I can't comment on this one except to say that it would be worthwhile to use a free half-hour's time with a lawyer. Also, your friend should check their insurance policy and read the fine print. If the policy says that the company will waive all coverage under certain conditions, and specifies that one of the conditions is drunk driving, your friend may indeed have no coverage.
