Hurricanes & Flood Damage

I am from Eastern North Carolina and I have damages due to the recent hurricane. My roof is leaking and my chimney is falling apart. Should I report this to my insurance provider, which is the National Flood Insurance Program?

I would. While you may find that the definition of "flood/water damage" versus "hurricane" damage may cause you a problem, it's still worth reporting it. Also, if you have any sort of flood or water damage protection through your homeowners insurance, I would report your damage to that company as well. But read the fine print on your homeowners policy first, before doing that.
