Quotes Too High for Insurance

My insurance company will no longer service Florida. I have been getting quotes that are three times what I have been paying for insurance. How do I hold on to my home and pay these big premiums? I am retired and living on a fixed income. I do not want to lose my home.

Unfortunately, I'm sure you aren't the only person in this predicament. Given the severity of the hurricane season in recent memory, I think we can only expect these premiums to go up. Is there any chance you can get a better-priced insurance through the state? I'd check with the Department of Insurance in Florida.
