Service Rating for an Insurance Company

Where can I find the rating for service on an insurance company?

Answer:

A rating for customer service is harder to find than a financial rating for a company -- but much more important in my opinion.

I don't have any information on where you are located, or I would have pointed you directly to any tool that I found. However, I can suggest that you go to your local Department of Insurance. If you go to http://www.naic.org/state_web_map.htm, you can click on the state of your choice and be taken directly to the corresponding Department of Insurance.

Most Departments of Insurance keep track of complaints against an insurer. This will give you an idea of the "customer service rating".

You can also check with your local / regional Better Business Bureau, to see if the company has a good rating with them.
