    Zero Lot Line Insurance

    Hello

I live in the state of Ohio and own half of a duplex.  We had hail damage and my directly connect neighbor received a claim from her insurance for her roof,  however my insurance is not going to give me anything on my claim saying it was not hail damage.  I am thinking the roof being a common area should still be covered under my insurance since the neigbor has received funds to replace hers. The roof is a continuous roof line so I couldn't just decide to change my color without affect the neighbors and visa-vera. I was told when I bought the place that if any part of the roof needed replaced the whole thing would need to be done.  I have talked to my agent and he said he never heard of such a thing unless it was an association rule.  There is no association - I own my half and the neighbor owns her -- it is called a zero lot line property.  I don't remember seeing anything in print about the roof rules other than being told about it.  Any thoughts on this?

    Thanks
