My current home insurance nightmare is the inability to secure home insurance. We own a home that is unique in size and architecture. There are 11 bedrooms, 7 fireplaces, 5 and 2 half baths and .95 acres of land. We have been unable to get the house insured because there is alot of ornate wood paneling, mantles, etc. Apparently, the "grandness" of some of the features of the home is not insurable because it can't be replaced. Ofcourse, in my mind, I wouldn't expect our home to be rebuilt the way it is now if there were a fire or damage. But so far the insurance companies aren't signing us. There has to be some insurance company that insures homes like this.... if you know of any please advise. Thank you.
